Junior chosen for Conference Swimming, Diving Scholar-Athlete Team

Department of Chemical Engineering junior Patton Shaar was selected for the Missouri Valley Conference 2026 Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving Scholar-Athlete Team.
Shaar was chosen along with 10 other UIC swimming and diving athletes.
To be nominated, a student-athlete must have a 3.50 cumulative GPA, both as an undergraduate and graduate student. Student-athletes must be at least a sophomore in academic and athletic standing. Eligible nominees must compete in at least four competitions or finish in the top eight individually at the Conference championship or be a member of a top three relay team at the event.
